Chairman
Mr. Manoj Tirodkar, Chairman & Managing Director of the Global Group is a first
generation entrepreneur. He is widely recognized for his efforts towards creating
an efficient and environment friendly telecom industry and championing the cause
of Shared telecom infrastructure model.
Global Group has 7 companies, two of which are listed on Indian Stock Exchanges
(BSE & NSE).
The Group has more than 30,000 towers, have revenues of US $ 1.2 Billion, total
asset size of over US$ 5 Billion and more than 35,000 professionals by FY 2011.
The Group has Operations across 46 countries, employs people of 22 nationalities
and supports 18 social causes.

Mr. Patil was born on November 10, 1955 is a Commerce Graduate from the Mumbai University.
He has been a member of the Board since September 5, 1998 as an independent director.
Mr. Patil has a rich experience of more than 21 years across functions like finance,
audit, logistics, distribution, customer service, human relations and administration.
He takes a keen interest in addressing the organizational issues, and heads the
Shareholders / Investors grievances committee.

Prof. S. C. Sahasrabudhe

Independent Director :
Born in 1942, Prof.Sahasrabudhe obtained his M.Sc from Nagpur University in 1964,
followed by M.Tech, from IIT Bombay in 1966. He received his Ph.D in 1971 from Leningrad
University of the erstwhile USSR. He served as an Independent Director on the Board
of GTL Limited, between September 5, 1998 and December 31, 2000. Thereafter, he
joined the Company as a Whole time Director from January 1, 2001 until September
2005. Presently, he is associated as a Non Executive Director of the Company.
Prof Sahasrabudhe is the former Deputy Director of Indian Institute of Technology
(IIT) Mumbai, and was instrumental in setting up many teaching laboratories, such
as the micro-processor lab, the communication electronics lab, etc. He guided 15
doctoral dissertations, over 75 M.Tech theses and a very large number of B.Tech
students. For all these efforts, he was awarded the Best Teacher Award in 2001.
His research focus has been primarily on image and signal processing and telecommunication.
His pioneer contribution in these areas in India has helped in grooming a large
number of excellent researchers. He also has been awarded the prestigious Prof.SVC
Aiya memorial award and the Prof. S.K.Mitra memorial award.
He was a visiting faculty at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of
Sydney, Australia and at EPPL, Lausanne, Switzerland. His fields of interest include
Communications, Signal & Image Processing and Microprocessor Applications. Currently
he is the Director of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication
Technology.

Independent Director :
Mr. Ayyar was born on April 21, 1961, is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and has
been an independent financial consultant involved in corporate finance and investment
advisory related practice.
He has been a member of the Board since April 24, 2000 as an independent director,
and heads the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Mr. Ayyar has over twenty years post qualification experience and has been involved
in development and public finance, privatizations and investment banking in advisory
capacity. Mr. Ayyar has spent over four years as a long-term consultant to projects
funded by multilateral & bilateral agencies in over twelve developing countries
around the world. These projects included parastatal review and restructuring, institutionalizing
private sector initiatives for promoting non-conventional energy programs and other
development projects. Mr. Ayyar has participated as an advisor to several state
utilities in the power sector in India and was also a member of the expert committee
appointed by the state government for renegotiating the Dabhol Power Project.
Mr. Ayyar has also served on the Boards of several Indian and multinational companies
as a non-executive director. These companies include those engaged in consumer durables,
aviation, networking and telecom solutions, power transmission & distribution, 3D
animation, agro processing & logistics, software development, asset management,
banking & finance and insurance.

Prof. Shamkant B. Navathe

Independent Director :
Prof. Navathe was born on September 23, 1945. He is a Ph.D from the University of
Michigan, USA and MS in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University,
Columbus and a BE in Electrical Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute
of Science, Bangalore.
He has been a member of the Board since July 30, 2001 as an independent director.
Dr. Shamkant Navathe is currently a professor at the College of Computing, Georgia
Institute of Technology, Atlanta. He is known for his work on database modeling,
database conversion, database design, distributed database fragmentation, allocation,
and redesign, and database integration. He has worked with IBM and Siemens in research
divisions and has been a consultant to various companies, including Honeywell, Nixdorf,
CCA, ADR, Digital, MCC, Harris, Equifax and Hewlett-Packard. Prior to his current
position, Dr. Navathe was with the Database Systems Research and Development Center
and was a Professor of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Florida
in Gainsville (1979-1990). He was on the faculty of New York University's Graduate
School of Business Administration (1975-79) and a system engineer for IBM World
Trade Corporation and Electronic Data Systems.
He has co-authored the book,"Fundamentals of Database Systems", with R. Elmasri,
(Edition 5, 2007) which is currently the leading database textbook worldwide. He
also co-authored "Conceptual Database Design: An Entity-Relationship Approach" with
Carlo Batini and Stefano Ceri in 1992. Dr. Navathe has over 150-refereed journal
and conference publications. He is known for his research work on Database Modeling
and Design, Data Conversion and Integration, and Manufacturing and Bio-informatics
applications. He is on the advisory board of the International Institute of Information
Technology (IIIT) at Pune.

Mr. Vijay M Vij, is a Practicing Chartered Accountant and has an experience of over
18 years in almost every facet of taxation, auditing and consulting profession.
Mr. Vijay is a commerce graduate from Mumbai University and became Chartered Accountant
from ICAI in 1995.
Mr. Vijay is the Managing Partner of P. Parekh & Associates, Chartered Accountants,
and is an expert in Direct Taxation, Valuations, Financial Modeling, Business consultancy
and M & A. He has effectively advised several companies on business restructuring
and start up ventures, and helped them compete in tough Business Environment. He
has hands on experience in providing advice on tax efficient entry strategy for
India, transfer pricing and tax treaty implications

Mr. Charudatta Naik has an experience of over 22 years in the telecom industry spanning
across, Technical Support, Sales & Marketing and Business Operations.
He is on the Board of GTL Limited and GTL Infrastructure Limited. He is also on
the advisory board of Global Foundation, the charitable arm of the Global Group.
As Group CEO he provides strategic guidance to Group Companies to enhance the Group’s
growth potential, globally. He is also responsible for the group’s overall operations.
Mr. Charudatta Naik has earlier worked with companies like Crompton Greaves and
Unitel Communications.
He is an Engineering Graduate in Electronics & Telecom.

Mr. S K Roy as Whole-Time Director & Chief Operating Officer is responsible
for Managing Growth, Profitability and Operations of the Company.
Mr. Roy has an overall experience of over 28 years in Business Management, Strategic
Planning, Sales and Marketing in ITservices, Telecom & System Integration industries.
He has been associated with GTL for over 15 years and has worked as an Operational
Head as well as pioneered & headed the Company’s Consumer Telecom Business. Mr.
Roy served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO), prior to taking on his current
role. In the past he has worked with companies like Philips and ET&T.
Mr. Roy holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Bachelors
degree in Engineering and Master of Engineering from Calcutta University.

Mr. Hemant Desai, born on 16th March, 1962, is an Arts graduate with specialization in Economics. He is the Promoter Director of Tradewell International Pvt. Ltd. (an Indo-Saudi joint venture group).
Mr. Desai has extensive experience in Distribution and Marketing and Supply chain management. He has successfully advised several Electronic and FMCG companies in setting up their supply chains and distribution networks. Mr. Desai has also contributed towards developing export markets particularly in Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Nepal for his clients.

Mr. D.S. Gunasingh, born on March 1, 1949, has over 35 years of work experience in large corporates in India, in the fields of Secretarial, Corporate Governance, Legal and Taxation. He is a graduate in Science and has done his B.L. and FCS.
Mr. Gunasingh in his career has handled several professional assignments that include managing affairs of boards and shareholders of large public listed companies; handling of issues for raising funds through equity and debt instruments in the Domestic Market and Bonds Issues in the International Markets; merger, demerger and takeover of companies; establishment of globally recognized corporate governance practices; legal representation before Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal and Company Law Board; practice as Advocate; and authoring a book on taxation.

Mr. Navin Kripalani, born on 6th April, 1949 is a Science Graduate. Mr. Kripalani has an extensive experience of 39 years, out of which over 29 years were in hard-core operations. Mr. Kripalani considers it a privilege to have been privy to intricate machinations within organizations - with both their internal and external customers. He believes that the key ingredients for organizational success are culture, values, discipline, processes and, most vital of all, relationships. Some of his key interest areas are:

- Initiating a corporate cultural revolution to ignite a self-sustaining fire within each employee to provide intense energy to meet the growth requirements of both internal & external customers and investors.
